Barcelona is home to a route where fictional superheroes intertwine with real monuments of the Gothic and Catalan Modernist periods. You’ll visit 15 puntos de interés, including historic squares, century-old markets, hidden courtyards, and iconic buildings by Gaudí and Domènech i Montaner, while solving 16 challenges that combine Modernist iconography, medieval history, and verifiable architectural details. Each waypoint reveals a fragment of the urban narrative: from stone angels on Neo-Gothic facades to ceramic dragons on Modernist rooftops. The challenges require you to observe capitals, mosaics, coats of arms, and details that are only there, on that corner, in that courtyard. You make your way through the Barri Gòtic and the Eixample, deciphering clues rooted in construction dates, architects’ names, and real heraldic symbols. In GeoCats Agora, you earn XP for each correct answer, level up, and unlock achievements as you explore the city while solving cultural challenges.
